Brigid's curiosity and love for nature ignite her caregiver tendencies to help save the planet's plants and animals. After her 30-year career in nursing, she was able to focus on the natural world through volunteer projects as a Texas Master Naturalist with the Mid-Coast Chapter. From supporting bugs and birds with native plant gardening to emboldening students to hold a blue crab with the Texas Floating Classroom, She engages in a variety of initiatives that benefit the local environment.

Brigid has been a dedicated volunteer for San Antonio Bay Partnership supporting her husband Allan's initiatives as chairman including the Abandoned Crab Trap Removal and Shorelines Cleanup programs as well as reminding him to reboot his computer when things get stuck. Upon documenting over a hundred dead sea turtles after Winter Storm Uri in 2021, Brigid initiated the Mid-Coast Sea Turtle Rescue
